Lisa asked me to write a blog based on a wellbeing topic that fitted with her page and mine. My mind lit up with about 6 million different ideas .
I sat down in front of a blank page and nothing. I made a mark and that’s it, I’ve started so lets see where it goes.
Starting new things however big or small can be daunting , we can be filled with self doubt. Will our efforts be successful? Will they be well received?.
In the realm of holistic health, some mundane things have to be considered, as well as the magical or philosophical. There must always be
Therefore this article will touch upon of concepts each incorporating a different modality.
Starting something new
Whether a new healthy habit, a new job , a new piece of writing, seems to set off ‘self doubt’ or we create circumstances which ensure the status quo is maintained.
If we want to exercise more we may decide to start running or start a couch to 5k program, in the morning we will start, it’s raining we don’t start, we sit or do the same as usual. But what if we did a dance routine from youtube . That isn’t in mindset , self-doubt may see the rain as a sign not to do the run, so we don’t consider the possibility of doing anything else and may even decide not to do it again.
Sometimes what we want to do for example lose weight or stop smoking, changes our identities, who we are and how people see us. As well as our self doubt we have to manage how other people perceive the situation as well.
What we have to do is believe we are worthy of the benefits of change, that it is our truth , our path. We need to find the confidence to “Dare to win” as Delboy from only Fools and Horses would say.
There are two fundamental ways to do this.
Do it regardless of anything, regardless of what people say. This may actual be the easiest way, do it, get the win and carry on… FACE THE FEAR … Whatever the result we get a win. It may be short term or it may become a long term thing, see the section on planning to win.
Take a closer look
The second involves exploring aspects of ourselves, to know ourselves and why we may create self doubt , that sabotages our efforts. This is potential a big piece of work that once started is ongoing. If you are reading this you will most likely have already started, whether you realise it or not !
There is a lot of information out there about being the best you, living your best life. There is information succinctly put in memes, sometimes these will resonate, sometimes they can cause harm due to their toxic positivity. How you feel is ok, that’s the first part of the learning, your feelings are yours, own them, they are valid.
When we start exploring ourselves and making changes, it can feel as if we have opened a huge can of chaos, people react to us differently, partners may feel threatened by sudden changes, remember people like the comfort of the status quo.
When we explore aspects of ourselves we may find areas that need healing, we may need to find a practice that treats us holistically or joins us together, or we may need talismans to touch and draw on their strength to help give us the qualities we need. Crystals make great talismans, they can easily be worn as jewellery and each has their own unique healing property. Reiki and chakra work can help you align your energy centres. They can create a higher vibration , which can open you up to achieving your dreams.
Shadow work and soul retrieval, can have a huge impact on healing, these are powerful pieces of work with a practitioner which can be life changing, and all light workers should undergo shadow work to ensure their energy is a pure and vital as it can be.
Shadow work means exploring the hidden aspect of our personality, the parts of us which we are told are not acceptable. These are the parts of us we often criticise others for having. Soul Retrieval, is an amazing piece of work and is of benefit to those who have lived with trauma and want to recover themselves and heal, there are a number of ways to do this. I tend to work with Guardian Angels or with a persons spirit guides or ancestors when doing this work. It can also be achieved through imagery and in a manner consistent with each individuals spiritual path.
Planning to win.
Whichever option we take to achieve a change, planning at some stage is essential,
A motivational quote/ meme that can be toxic. Lets unpick it
If we act or live without a plan, the law of nature kicks in, Entrophy occurs, we end up with disorder and chaos. Even if we truly believe we deserve something, if we have followed all the guidance and manifested it, there has to be some kind of action on our part to create the manifestation.
Imagine tipping out a jigsaw puzzle, in theory the pieces could land in the correct order, that they don’t is an example of entrophy.
An ordered outcome is unlikely to happen by chance. By stating your intention you create a purpose , by working towards the intent, there is movement, this can lead to things happening, and if we read signs, we may see some as a cause to stop or that it’s not the right time. This can be a false reading as when we change , we create change elsewhere, and this can cause a period of chaos whilst those around us adjust to the new us.
With a plan the chance of success is greater. With a plan that allows flexibility the chances increase more.
Creating a plan
- Visualise what you want to achieve (you can get creative here) .
- Think about how it will feel, how you can achieve it. Set your intent.
- Consider how to achieve it, think outside the box .
- If you want to run and it’s raining what is your back up plan.
- How can your plan succeed? How will you know?
After the initial plan, its important to remember to keep in the circle of do, reflect, plan, do and so on.
In conclusion, taking a holistic approach and being open to all the different methods out there of creating balance inwardly and outwardly increases your chances of success, knowing your self , both the good side and the shadow side provides huge benefits in moving forward whether, physically, mentally or spiritually, or in all three areas.
What we feel inwardly is often what we put back out to the universe. If we want to create change we must be the change.
